What is Fertility Specialist Consultation?

Infertility is defined as the absence of pregnancy within 1 year despite couples having regular intercourse. This period may be longer in younger couples. If women are over 35 years old and there are signs of infertility in the examination history, research should be started immediately. Infertility seen in 15-20 of every 100 couples is more common as the age gets older. Infertility is a health problem related to the reproductive system. As it may be due to a single reason; it can also happen with a combination of several factors. There are many safe and effective treatment methods to overcome infertility. These treatments increase the chances of couples to have babies.

What is Fertility & IVF?

Infertility is the absence of pregnancy despite 1 year of unprotected intercourse. In the problem of inability to have a child which is seen in about 15% of couples, only 20% of male factors, 30% of both male&female factors and only female factors are observed with a rate of 40%. In 10% of couples, there is an unexplained infertility. In the treatment of infertility, simple and causal treatments are preferred initially. If the problem can be detected, it is aimed to ensure pregnancy in the couple's home by eliminating correctable causes such as drug therapy, varicocele surgery, treatment of canal obstructions. With these treatments, even if the pregnancy cannot be achieved, the condition of the man is partially improved and it is ensured that he can benefit from assisted reproductive techniques with higher success. In other words, with the higher number and quality of the sperm obtained, the success of applications such as in vitro fertilization or vaccination is tried to be increased. While suitable couples may benefit from the method of leaving the male's sperm prepared in the laboratory to the female uterus (vaccination = insemination) by the gynecologist, microinjection = in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be required as a last resort for those with more severe conditions.
