What is Prostate Treatment?

The prostate is an 18-20 gram gland located at the outlet of the bladder whose main function is related to reproduction. The prostate gradually grows over the years and begins to compress the urinary channels passing through it. As time passes, the prostate continues to grow and fatigue occurs in the bladder muscles. In this case, the urine flow of the patients slows down, bifurcated urination, drip while urinating, intermittent urination, the feeling of still presence of urine inside after urinating occurs. Approaches to eliminate urination complaints of patients are applied in prostate treatments. Surgery is not recommended to the patient immediately and a treatment method is followed according to the complaints and their severity. Generally, first of all, arrangements are made regarding the toilet habits and lifestyle of the patient. If, despite drug treatments, the patient's urination complaints continue, if recurrent urinary tract infections and severe bleeding in the urine are observed or if the patient had to have a catheter inserted due to the inability to urinate, surgery may be required. In case the surgery is delayed despite all these complaints, bladder and kidney problems will occur and the patient will face kidney failure.
