Breast implant revision is the removal or repositioning of the implants to eliminate any complications or to satisfy the changing aesthetic goals of the patient. In most of the operations performed, general anesthesia is applied to the patient. The anesthetist ensures that the patient is unconscious until the revision procedure is completed. When it comes to whether to choose saline or silicone implants, the patient should make sure that both types of implants understand their advantages, disadvantages, and limits. Usually, during the breast implant revision, the surgeon tries to take advantage of the incision line opened for the previous operation while removing the previous implants and inserting new implants. This prevents new incision marks in the breast area. However, if the patient has chosen different types and sizes of implants for revision, the surgeon may have to create implant pockets to accommodate new implants. This means that new cuts will be required.
