What is Stomach Cancer?

Stomach cancer is the second most common type of oncological disease after breast cancer in women and lung cancer in men. Gender, genetic factors, environmental factors related to socioeconomic status, eating habits and gastritis due to the bacterium called Helicobacterpylori are effective in the emergence of gastric cancer. Various imaging methods should be used for the diagnosis of stomach cancer. The basic treatment method of stomach cancer is a surgical operation called gastrectomy, which can be defined as removal of the stomach. With this operation, all tumor tissue in the stomach and lymph-like tissues are removed if they have spread. The tumor can be imaged instantly and clearly during treatment with MR-LINAC. The image of the tumor in moving organs can also be taken instantly and continuously. In this way, the beam sent to the tumor can be retargeted according to the movement of the tumor.
