What is Circumcision?

Circumcision is a practice that has existed in various societies since ancient times. This practice still continues. The Sami, Hebrews, Arabs, Moabs, Amorites, Edomites, and Egyptians practiced circumcision. Circumcision is often preferred in the treatment of penile abnormalities. When there is pain due to penile curvature, crooked urination or narrow urinary hole, these abnormalities are treated by circumcision. In addition, another benefit of circumcision is protection from infectious diseases. It should be known that circumcision, especially in the neonatal period, protects from urinary tract infection during and after the healing process. The process takes between 15 and 30 minutes. In other words, pain control is very important after the circumcision procedure. After the local and systemic pain control applied during circumcision, appropriate painkillers should be given at least 24 hours after the procedure.
