Today, laparoscopic cholecystectomy method is preferred primarily in gallbladder surgery. It is made by creating four small holes without large incisions in the abdomen.

Gastroenterology is the name of the department that examines the diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines. Other organs that the gastroenterology department deals with are liver, spleen, gall bladder and pancreas. While diagnosing the diseases of these organs, procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, ercp and ultrasound are applied. In the diagnosis and treatment of stones and cancers of the biliary tract, it is diagnosed and treated with a special endoscopy device called side-view duodenoscopy.
