What is Tympanoplasty?

Tympanoplasty is performed on patients with a hole in the eardrum and chronic middle ear inflammation. It is the operation of patching the eardrum after cleaning the inflammation in the middle ear and bone. In the non-inflammatory condition, the process of making a patch on the eardrum is called myringoplasty. In cases where the problem is limited to the hole in the eardrum, if inflammation is not observed by only protecting the ear from water, the surgery is performed according to the patient's preference.
